Great question! The best way to figure out your ski pole size is to grab a tape measure in your hand, put your hand at a 90 degree angle and measure the distance from your hand to the ground. If you don’t have time for all that, we created a simple conversion chart based on your height on the pole configurator page. If you have any questions with sizing, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected].

They do look a little funny, don’t they? In order for our magnetic system to work so you can carry your poles more easily, we had to design our baskets to be the same width as our handles. Rest assured the basket shape will not affect your skiing.
Your poles will arrive in a core box with each component individually boxed inside: two poles, two baskets, two handles, two straps, and a GoPro Mount (if you ordered one!) This is what allows us to offer mixing and matching of different colors. Assembly is simple and intuitive and all of our packaging is FSC certified and 100% recyclable. If you have any assembly issues or questions, please don't hesitate to send us a note at [email protected].
When you get your poles, each component will come in its own labeled box. You can assemble the poles in whatever order you want, but if you want some guidance, try this:
1. Put the strap into the handle slot. Place the provided bolt into the handle and pass it through the strap. Secure it in place by screwing it in with the included wrench.
2. Attach the pole to the handle by sliding the pieces together until the button clicks.
3. Finally, unscrew the white nut near the tip of the basket. Once unscrewed, place your basket over the bottom of the tip and press until flush.
4. Screw on the nut very tight to secure. If you have a wrench handy, use it to help tighten even more.
Your poles are ready for an epic day on the snow!
We designed the magnets in the handles and baskets of our P1 Poles to be pretty darn strong. But we were also very cautious about the effect they may have on items that don't play nicely with magnetism, like credit cards and avalanche beacons.
Short answer? No they won't wipe your credit card!
Long answer (for the engineering nerds out there)! The largest magnets in the product are in the handle and they're made of neodymium rare earth magnets. They produce ~2,000 Gauss of magnetic flux, which is the total magnetic field that passes through the pair when the handles are together. Credit cards require greater than 4,000 Gauss to cause demagnetization. So don't worry, your credit cards and iPhone screens are safe.
Surprisingly, no! Our team spent a lot of time packing lots of stuff into a very small space in the handles and baskets. This puts the total weight of a P1 Pole (120CM model) at 1.3 lbs. Comparable aluminium poles are roughly 1.15 lbs.
It sure does! All of our components are reverse compatible with all Yardsale poles.
You sure can! All replacement parts are sold as pairs but you can purchase all components separately if you want to have other colors to swap in or out. Check 'em out here.

Company
In the snow sports world, the term yard sale refers to a big fall in which a skier or snowboarder loses their skis, goggles, helmet and poles across the piste, thus resembling a yard sale!
We guarantee our shafts against bends or breaks for life because we want your Yardsale poles to be the last pair of poles you'll ever buy. Thanks to the modularity of the poles, if you ever bend or break a shaft, you can just pop off the old ones and replace them with shiny new ones.
How does it work?
If you break the shaft (that's impressive!) send us an email at [email protected]
The only catch — you have to tell us the story of how it happened! Include a brief summary (videos are great too) of your wipeout. We'll ship you a new segment, you just pick up the shipping charge.
For all other parts, we guarantee them from manufacturing defects for up to 1 year from the date of purchase. Reach out to us to start a warranty claim.
We sure are! Check out our list of Stockists.
